12/20/2011 ~ Jangles, Our Elf on the Shelf 2011

86

Although I would not classify myself as an over achieving Elf on the Shelf Mom, I do try to make Jangles as lively as I can for the kiddos.  I didn't remember to take his picture each time.  Frankly, I didn't remember to move him daily either.  But the Elf on the Shelf is a tradition that my family adores, even if I have to occassionally accuse the kids of touching him and taking his magic away in an attempt to explain why he hasn't moved to the next location that morning.

12/9/2011 ~ Gingerbread and Candy Canes

75

Jangles was up to his usual antics last night and decided to drag race a Care Bear in the dining room.  The good news is that he brought a box of Candy Canes for the kids so we used some of those to help build a Gingerbread House this morning since Griffin was home from school.  Lots of fun for Griffin and I got to add many finishing touches so plenty of fun for me also.  We have another kit waiting for Lily to build but we both decided it would be more fun to tell her we made it without her before revealing her own kit.
We're just mischievious like that!

12/01/2011 ~ Gifts from Jangles

67

Our Elf on the Shelf Jangles was pleased to find a few pictures from the kids last night.  That crazy little fella set up our false Christmas tree while most of us were asleep and then he left a few gifts for the kids.  We found him riding the Reindeer!  What a nut.

As an aside, Lily got a free waterpik from her dentist this morning.  Yippee!

11/26/2011 ~ Jangles Came to Town

62

Everyone likes to wake up on a Saturday morning and discover that their Elf on the Shelf came to town!  Jangles arrived back in town thanks to a special little book that Griffin created to persuade him along.  To top it all off, we attended the Santa Under the Stars parade in Aurora tonight.  It was wonderful this year with more of a focus on Christmas and less of a focus on advertising business.  Here's hoping Jangles inspires some good behaviour!
